I think my property is old and could probably do with a re-wire
It's always good to be conscientious about electrical safety in the home. One thing's for sure, a complete re-wire is going to rectify any problems you've got lurking out of sight. What's to say, however, that your installation isn't safe and may just need general maintenance and improvements to bring it to a safe standard? We often recommend EICRs (Electrical installation condition reports) as a means of assessing whether or not a property needs the complete over-haul, or whether you've got a good few years left. After all, if the installation was correct when it was installed, it's likely to be correct to those regulations now. We just need to test & inspect to confirm.
