My RCD is tripping!
Ok, it's probably something simple that's causing this. Simply follow these simple steps. 1) Your RCD protects probably more than one individual circuit. Start by establishing which circuits are affected, then switch off their respective MCB's (circuit breakers). The RCD should re-set. 2) If it doesn't, call us. If it does, then start turning on the MCB's it's supplying one by one. Once you find the circuit that's causing the RCD to trip, simply leave that circuit off. 3) If it's a socket circuit, start by unplugging and switching the controls off for each appliance (including the boiler if applicable) on that circuit. 4) Go back to the board and try turning it on again. if it doesn't reset, it's likely a fault with your fixed wiring. Call us freephone on 0800 612 1016. Remember rn, you can always call us and we'll talk you through this procedure!
